Victoria County Juvenile Services is currently accepting applications for the position of School-Based Probation Officer. The school-based probation officer is responsible for acting as liaison between Victoria Independent School District and the Victoria County Juvenile Probation Department. The officer is responsible for analyzing and screening all assigned cases referred by V.I.S.D. to the Victoria Regional Juvenile Justice Center. The officer shall provide services to and supervise assigned juveniles and their families under the auspices of Title III Texas Family Code and departmental policies. Qualified applicants must possess Bachelors or Masters Degree in behavioral studies from an accredited four-year college/university, plus appropriate work experience in a related field dependent upon degree. Applicants must submit to a criminal background check, drug screening and meet minimum requirements to also be certified by the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission.
