The major tax duty of the assessor-collector is the collection of property tax as established by the Constitution and the
State Property Tax Code. In addition, as an agent of the Texas Department of
Transportation, the assessor-collector is responsible for the registration and
licensing of motor vehicles owned by residents of the county. The Victoria
County Tax Assessor-Collector also issues permits for the
Texas Alcoholic Beverage
Commission.
Property values are set by the
Victoria County Appraisal District.
Tax statements are generated in house and go out to property tax owners in
October of a taxing year
