Currently the department is a combination department with 6 paid staff and approximately 25 volunteer firefighters. The Victoria County Fire Department is regulated by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection and provides Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (ARFF) protection to Victoria Regional Airport, and the surrounding protection district. The department also responds to fires throughout Victoria County, or to neighboring counties if requested as mutual aid.
